We built VPN Picker because we were tired of "best VPN" lists that read like ad copy. There are hundreds of providers out there, each claiming to be the fastest, safest, and cheapest. Figuring out what's true takes hours. We wanted to fix that.
Who we are
A small independent team, based in Switzerland. We care about privacy, so we keep it that way: you won't find our names, headshots, or LinkedIn profiles here. What matters is the work, not us.
We're tech enthusiasts who've spent years navigating the VPN market for ourselves and got frustrated enough to build something better. We have no investors, no advertising deals, and no quota to push a specific provider. Just a shared belief that people deserve honest information when they're trying to protect their digital life.
The problem we're solving
The VPN market is a jungle. Marketing is aggressive, claims are exaggerated, and most comparison sites make money by ranking the highest-paying VPN at the top. It's hard to know who to trust.
We test every provider against a consistent set of criteria: speed, jurisdiction, logging policy, protocol support, price, audits, and more. We score them the same way every time. Our rankings aren't for sale.
We do earn affiliate commissions when you subscribe through our links. That's how we keep the site running. But our scores and rankings are built before any commercial relationship is considered. A VPN either earns its place on our list or it doesn't.
What we stand for
Privacy by default
We don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't require an account. The quiz results live in your browser and disappear when you close the tab.
Methodology first
Every score is derived from the same criteria applied the same way. We publish our methodology so you can challenge it, replicate it, and hold us accountable.
Radical transparency
We disclose every affiliate relationship. If a VPN scores low, that score stays low regardless of what they offer us commercially. Full stop.
Always up to date
VPN policies change, audits come out, prices shift. We review our data regularly so you're not reading something that was true two years ago.
